Many people can be quite wasteful with their money when it comes to fashion, but most of us are victims of this trend. However, simply replacing well-worn items with like-for-like garments can be an avoided expenditure if you take care of your purchases a little better. Especially if it’s a more luxurious item like cashmere from Pure Collection, it stands to reason that more money can be saved in the long run.
Even if cashmere does not get dirty or smell of sweat easily, it needs to be washed after every three outings. Cashmere is delicate and washing it less often allows it to last longer. If machine washing, put cashmere in a pillowcase and use special wool washing products; choose a cold wool programme and don’t allow spinning at over 600 rpm. Dry it without twisting; roll it in a towel and dry it flat. Do not tumble dry!
Meanwhile, silk is very delicate and should be hand-washed unless the label says it can go in a machine. Hand-wash silk in lukewarm soapy water without soaking it and if necessary, add vinegar or sugar to cold water to rinse. Like cashmere, don’t twist it; in fact, shirts and blouses can be put on a hangar to dry.
